Frequently Asked Questions

1) Can I still pay my dues by mail?

- Yes, we will still send out dues notices through the mail if you wish to receive them. Simply, go to your edit my profile and select mail or both under the Contact Method selection. Conversely, if you do not wish to receive traditional mail from us, simply select email, and we will not send you paper dues notices.

 

2) How will I know when my membership expires?

- First, you can log-in to your profile to see when your expiration date is. Second, you will be receiving expiration notices 30, 7, and 1 day before your membership expires through email. Also, if you choose to receive dues notices through mail (as described in question 1) you will receive a mailing that contains your dues notice.

 

3) What happens if my membership expires?

- Your profile will be placed as inactive, and you will have 7 days to complete your membership renewal. Once this inactive period expires, your profile will be marked for deletion.

 

4) What else will OAS use the Member Site for?

- This site will contain information for all OAS events, including registration forms for all OAS events (including our Annual Meeting and State Science Day). Also, we have included a social community to this website, and we encourage both students and professionals to post questions and engage in scientific discussion. Each "circle" can be a topic for discussion, and if you have an idea for a circle that would be helpful, please let us know!
